Mountain Dew Disease

Cavities can still get you!  So you're not 12 years old anymore.  There's no one around to tell you that you're drinking too much soda (or any sugary beverage for that matter).

Many people start drinking a beverage throughout the day while at work.  Coffee and tea aren't so bad, until you add sugar or honey.  Others choose Iced Teas, Sodas, or other popular soft drinks that are loaded with sugar.

First of all, abide by "everything in moderation".  Drink five or six cups of coffee with sugar or cans of soda, and you ARE  are going to get cavities.  Even worse is what can happen if you "nurse" you beverage, which is taking a sip every couple of minutes over several hours, or worse, all day long.

Bathing your teeth in sugar is like bathing them in acid.  The plaque on your teeth converts the sugars to acids, which remove minerals from your teeth, and eventually causes cavities.  What's worse, many drinks are acidic already, compounding the problem of mineral loss from teeth.

If you provide enough sugar or acidic beverages, rapid, rampant decay of your teeth will occur and can result in the need for multiple fillings and expensive crowns.
