A brief note about who we are. Working together as father and
son is a wonderful experience, though it does have some
drawbacks.
The biggest question we are asked is "Who is
who?", since we share the same name. We decided that the name Dr.
Oleske would refer to the father, and that the name Dr. Joe would
apply to the son.
The other question we get is "What's
the difference between a D.D.S. and a D.M.D.? The answer to
that, for the most part, is "nothing"!

Some dental schools award a Doctor of
Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) and others award a Doctor of Medical Dentistry,
(D.M.D.) but training, licensure and credentials are exactly the same.
Actually, the D.M.D. degree started when Harvard University began its
own dental school near the start of the twentieth century.
Harvard only awards degrees in Latin; since doctor of dental
surgery does not translate well, they changed the designation to D.M.D.
